Archival Collections
The Dublin Historical Society serves as the repository for historical records, photographs, and artifacts that document the history of Dublin, Ohio and the surrounding region. We collect, preserve, and make these materials available to the public for research.
Our archival holdings span the early 1800s through present day and include:
- Photographs
Dublin's streets, geography, landmarks, homes, residents, and community events - Personal papers and correspondence
letters, diaries, and documents from Dublin families and community members - Business and organizational records
administrative records from local businesses, civic organizations, churches, and schools - Maps and property records
plats, surveys, street maps, and plans documenting Dublin's development and growth - Newspapers and printed ephemera
local publications, yearbooks, programs, announcements, and other printed materials - Oral history recordings
recorded interviews with Dublin residents sharing their personal memories and experiences
Searching the Collections
Finding aids, inventories, and collection descriptions of our archival holdings are available via the Collection Catalog. Many of our collection materials have also been digitized, and can be viewed online in the Dublin Memories database. It is recommended that you search the Collection Catalog to see if we have the kinds of materials you are looking for before requesting a visit in person.

Accessing Collection Materials
Archival collection materials are available for in-person research by appointment only. Our collections are stored in a secured, off-site facility provided by the City of Dublin and managed exclusively by volunteers. Prior notice is required to access any collection materials.
Contact the Archival Collections Committee by email to schedule an appointment. Appointments are currently available on Thursdays between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM in the meeting room of the museum located at 35 S. High St. and must be scheduled a minimum of one week prior to your intended visit. Alternative appointments may be available in a limited capacity by request.
Due to the age and unique nature of original documents, all research visits are supervised by a member of the Archival Collections Committee to provide guidance on careful handling of materials. No food, beverages, or pens are permitted in the vicinity of collection materials.
